This really is how car rental should be. Straightforward, efficient and clear.
The team at Koper made it clear what the nature of the current damage was and they also made clear a small additional charge for driving in other countries, (Italia/Croatia).
Point to note, the location closes at 15h! so plan accordingly but very easy to get there by cab from Trieste.
I also got the car I booked on the website for the first time in my life!

My plans also changed during the rental and had to prolong it by a few days - everything was sorted within few minutes just over the phone.
