About Egelsbach Airport
Frankfurt Egelsbach Airport (QEF) is in Germany. It is located to the south of Frankfurt, close to the provincial city of Egelsbach, in the state of Hessen. The airport is currently operating flights from two runways (one made of asphalt and one made of grass for light aircraft only). The airport is not operating commercial flights at present, but is open to private traffic. Sixt are able to provide a reliable car hire service for people travelling to in the vicinity of the airport.
Things to see and do in Egelsbach
Egelsbach is located in the Offenbach district of Germany, it is an intriguing destination and one that attracts visitors mainly because of its history. The area of south-west Germany has some interesting stories to tell. The city welcomes car users. Its records go back to 1200s and document the regional power struggles that took place during medieval Germany, more details of which can be found in the local library. A much more modern, though equally interesting, site is the European Communications Research Centre a collection of antenna that form a major part of the US military communications network. Access is restricted but, if you can arrange a car rental, be sure to take a drive past and admire the impressive communication antenna. Egelsbach also has its own railway museum, ideal for the train enthusiasts.
