After reading all the nightmare reviews about other lower cost car rental companies at BCN airport, I decided to pay extra money and rent a car from Sixt in T1. The experience was 5 star -- perfect!! They allowed me to use my credit card's 'rental car insurance' without pressuring me into buying their CDW insurance, which I really appreciated. They offered an online checkin option that allowed me to quickly pick up the car in the outside car parking facility. The car (economy car Renault Clio) had quite a bit of minor damage but it was well documented (I still took many photos). After 26 days, I returned the car to Sixt at Terminal 1. I was greeted by Maria, who was fantastic! She checked the car to confirm that the gas tank was full and there was no damage and asked me to sign her electronic device to confirm everything. She explained how the damage deposit refund will happen. But the story does not end here. After taking our luggage to the Airport Express bus to ride into town (which is not far away) I realized my credit card was missing and assumed it was in the car. I walked back to Sixt and found my car was already gone. Maria called someone and they brought the car back to me and I found the credit card under the seat (I must have lost it there after paying a highway toll). Maria and the other employees involved were so nice and professional. I absolutely recommend using Sixt, even if it's a little more expensive than other car rental companies at BCN!
